Meier comparable from last nights trade

Description
So basically this is how I see it:
Sharangovich = Beauvillier, meaning a young struggling roster player who needs to find their footing again
Gritsyuk = Raty, meaning a highly talented prospect who was killing it overseas that the selling club can be patient with
1st = 1st, I think this is pretty self explanatory lol

Isles' 1st is better, but Sharangovich is worth more than Beauvillier imo so it balances out. If this were the package I'd be over the moon.

Grit is not the same tier as Raty and Meier is more expensive than Horvat

Lower level prospect by a bit, much later 1st, not going to happen. Ask has been said to be a 1st and an A prospect or a 1st and two B prospects

So if Mukhamadullin was added to this deal would that push it?

Meier should be getting more than Horvat. Especially with an extension

Also, Raty is pretty comparable to Mukh, if not Holtz. As others also stated the 1st is way better from the Isles.

Remember the Sharks have the ability to pay Timo's qualifying offer and/or extend him, so if they don't get the offer they like, then he's not going anywhere.

It would certainly be a better deal. Horvat is moved at this price without a deal too, Meier is an rfa at worst and Grier already said teams can talk extension before a trade. If anything I think the Horvat trade only ups the Meier price

Raty = Gritsyuk
Beauvillier < Sharangovich (Beau is closer to Johnsson)
NYI 1st > NJD 1st

If Meier is extending, we would probably have to add something...2nd or 3rd maybe.

This is roughly what the trade will be, possibly swap Gritsyuk with Muk but that tier prospect. This is pretty on the nose for the reported price.

This is exactly the price that’s been reported on several occasions over the last few weeks and falls in line with historical trade comparables…. It’s going to be roughly what you get

I agree it’s probably close. Maybe another pick in there. And Muk would probably be easier one to sell since he is signed and has years on ELC left. And Gritsyuk may return to KHL for another year or two. But a prospect at that level.

the ask was phrased really badly but it's basically:
1) 1st+A prospect (Peng's sources considered Luke Hughes an A, Nemec a borderline A/B)
2) 1st+two B prospects (Peng's sources considered Holtz and Muk B prospects)
3) young established NHL player with good prospect (assumed that means B prospect)

So I think Muk/Holtz/Casey added to 1st+Sharangovich should fulfill the 3rd option

or my personal favorite of 1st+Holtz+Muk fulfills the 2nd option

I'm guessing that 1st+Nemec would still satisfy the 1st option, because Hughes is untouchable, but maybe they throw in a later pick or C prospect to get the deal done if SJ considers Nemec borderline A

The sources for these are where the journalist Peng responds to comments in his article where people straight up ask about what his sources consider Holtz and Muk. I am not saying that Fitz agrees
