Preds TDL Rebuild

Created by: Mtnsurfer25
Team: 2022-23 Nashville Predators
Initial Creation Date: Feb. 1, 2023
Published: Feb. 1, 2023
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
If Poile finally decides that a rebuild is immanent.
I'm honestly not sure about the Oilers deal - Bouchard seems like the kind of person Preds would target but I would imagine the Oilers are high on him. However Saros is top 5 goalie in the league and price will be very high.
Canes get Patches replacement. Preds get similar return to Arviddson.
Van gets young defensemen and solid 3/4th C for rebuild. Both Vancouver boys.

Edmonton's goaltending is fixed. They actually need defensemen.

Patches replacement should score goals, don’t see many 30 goal seasons in Granlands history or future.

That Oilers deal makes no sense whatsoever.

Edmonton has Skinner (who they just extended) and Campbell (who looks.to have found his game after a rough start).

Further, the Oilers a little more than "high" on Bouchard. Of they move off the blueline, it's Barrie for a stay-at-home D.

To think that Saros, as good as he is, would land Bouchard and a pair of high end picks is completely off base - Oilers needs aside.

Exactly! I am.sure where he even would fit in.... 3rd line? Maybe?

The Vancouver deal I think is something they would consider. That one actually addresses needs.

I cant see any of these trades making much sense.

Saros won't be moved. His contract lines up with Askarov's development, and Edmonton won't part with Bouchard.

I'm fine with the Granlund trade, but we could net a first for him.

The Fabbro trade is brutal. Garland has little to no value, especially considering it's rumoured that VAN might buy him out. I'd rather wait for that to happen and keep Fabbro unless an offer we can't refuse comes across the table.

And Smith might get us a 6th or a 7th, but it would be to a contending team.

VAN considers it, Preds do not.

If he had offered Saros for Campbell and picks, the Oilers would certainly listen. But this deal makes no sense for Edmonton.

Depends how hard up for offense Poile sees the team being.

I would say something is lacking along with Garland, but there is a framework there.

A guy with 24pts in 48 games isn't exactly the "offense" the team needs. There would be cheaper, better options if we wanted to buy.

It's also rumoured that VAN want's to buy Garland out. We aren't moving our chips in for someone like that.

Garland has value and there has been no rumours of buying him out. Unless you count people from this site as legit rumours lol

This site is so silly sometimes lol. In that case nobody on Nashville has any value either so they cancel out

I genuinely can't imagine a player making near 5m scoring at just 0.5ppg would have any value right now, definitely not to the Predators. Keep him.
