Time for Change
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>villenash</b></div><div>I’m all for giving bigger roles to some of our young, skilled players, but I’d rather see Glass stay at center. They tried him between Forsberg/Duchene in the preseason, so I wouldn’t mind seeing that again at 5v5. And then a 3rd line of Nino - Granlund - Jeannot as a shutdown line that can score sounds pretty interesting to me. Not sure who ends up on the 2nd line though— Tolvanen/Johansen + Tomasino? Trade?</div></div>
So somthing like:
Forsberg Glass Duchene
Tolvanen Joey Tomasino
Nino Granlund Jeannot
Trenin Sissons Jankowski
I could see that working out. 2nd line would be fun to watch Joey set up two really good shots.

Glass - Granlund - Tomasino

I'm personally keeping Benning over Myers. It's long overdue for Kunin to be scratched. Tolvanen has been playing lower lines all year, might as well have a solid scoring option on that line and give Glass some good ice time.</div></div>
I have no idea why Kunin is still getting 2nd line minutes. Its baffling. Much like him and Cousins on PP2.

Just curious, but what makes him untouchable? I understand hes a former 1st round pick but doesn't seem like he's putting up phenomenal numbers. Admittingly, I've only watched a few Rags games this year so I really don't know much about him or how he compliments Kreider/Breadman. Thanks for feedback!

Understand, I would think if Poile was wanting to move him, he would want either a 1st rounder or promising prospect. Thanks for feedback!

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>villenash</b></div><div>I don’t think Borowiecki gets that big of a raise— I think he’ll get a pay cut actually. But I’m open to bringing him back.
I’d prefer Forsberg to be similar to the Landeskog deal, but I suppose this wouldn’t be the worst since we have the space right now— but could be right next season with multiple players to extend. Maybe something like $8.5m x 5 or $7.5m x 7?
I’ve never minded Olivier like some other Preds fans have, but I’d be interested to see how Afanasyev would look on that line instead. Still open to Olivier if it doesn’t work out.
An alternative lineup could be:
Tolvanen - Granlund - Duchene
Forsberg - Johansen - Kunin
Jeannot - Glass - Tomasino
Trenin - Sissons - Afanasyev
I feel like Jeannot could help Glass and Tomasino. And then spreading out the talent a bit in the top 6. But there’s nothing wrong with your lines either— though I wonder which of Tomasino or Kunin would end up at LW.</div></div>
I don't think he will take that deep of a discount for shorter term. If he takes 7 or less then he will want max term plus NMC/NTC. I woudln't mind giving him more if the term is less.
I truly think that it Jeannot was playing top 6 mins he would be front runner for calder. He's the next Lucic/Wilson.

I have a feeling he's going to want more than Duchene/Joey but Poile won't give him as much as Josi obviously, If he wants more than 7, than he shorter term it is. If he wants 7 or below then 8 years would be fine.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>hairyberry</b></div><div>My bad yes, three years. I think Johansen will fall back down to Earth and have probably 60 or so points by the end of the year. This season so far is a clear outlier for him and I honestly believe the preds would be wise to get rid of him this year while other teams might be willing to bite based on recency bias.</div></div>
I think you could have got a late round pick from Poile for taking on Johansen this past offseason but there is zero chance that you get 2 2nds or a 1st from him now. Especially without something coming back. Even if he comes down to 60 points this season, a team isn't going to pay a 1st or couple 2nds to get rid of a player putting up those numbers LOL.

Sorry for the confusion, but for the Preds trade your wanting Johansen (27 pts in 32 games) and two 2nd round picks or a 1st round pick for nothing? He has 3 more years on his contract btw.

The Grimaldi trade was more so a place holder; not necessarily Detroit. I think Chicago would consider giving that Strome and Connolly aren't getting time and they are wanting to get Shaw off their LTIR. Johanson would be a good 2c under Toews and could even slide in on the right side with Dach.

Nashville passes. Even though Eichel would be the true number 1 center they've been searching for and getting Duchene off the books would be great, Preds are not in a contending position as of now. Giving up arguably the best goalie prospect in recent years and a potential top 10 draft pick in a great draft class, doesn't make sense for Preds. Plus with the possibility of Forsberg not being resigned, Tolvanen now becomes the LW to take his spot on the top line. Eichel would be a phenomenal add for the Preds, the timing just isn't right.

if Farrance is what they say he is, then he can replace Fabbro. I would like to see them both play together, reunite the Boston U boys but I think trade for Bert would be worth it. Benning and Carrier did a really good job this year, I think with compliments of Josi and Ekholm we would be fine. With the uptick in forwards, we don't have to rely on our defense so much.

For multiple 1st plus Duchene, the Preds could get much better return than giving him away to Seattle. I agree, his contract blows but its not like the Preds will have to give a way 3 1st round picks to get it off there books.
I don't' think a guy that hasn't hit 40 points once in his career is going to get 6 million a year.
I think the Ellis deal is fair. Ellis gives Philly what they need, Konency gives Preds what they need.

I think Jeannout would take another step if he was given the opportunity to play with more skilled players, He has been great on the "herd" line but has shown he has the ability to be a top forward. Plus he has size and can throw the body IE Tom Wilson type.
Honestly, I've never been a huge fan of Jarnkrok. I get that he can play up and down the line up but I have never understood the hype around him. Hes a 3rd/4th liner not a 1st/2nd liner; plus there is not one spec of physicality in him. Put him with Scissons and Olivier where they can box everyone out and have him rush down the wing.

Deck the hall
As a Preds fan, I would love this. I feel like Preds would probably have to add more though but what that more is I'm not sure. But raining MVP for a 20+ goal scorer in need of a change of scenery, a high rated prospect, and a 1st that will most likely be low, might not be enough for Jersey.
