I think the Jets would like to pick up Garland, but they're not giving up two roster players and downgrading their defense or taking Myers as a cap dump to get him.

You can't retain more than 3 contracts . TB could keep the 5 and Vancouver can keep the retention

I don’t see much of a reason for NJ to buy high on a goalie who’s value is near his lowest this TDL

Because it could be there only chance to get him. Given the retool rhetoric around the Canucks, if Demko comes back and plays wel for the rest of the season management would be likely to hang on to him

Vitek is proving to be really solid right now. No reason to move assets for a "could". Devils need a backup, not a project for a 1st.

Calling Demko a project is pretty laughable, he’s a top 10 goalie in the NHL on a below market deal with term. But I could understand why his injury history would scary teams

Pretty easy bet to make when the alternative is more than adequate goaltending alongside of having the traded assets. Plus the trade market for goalies with question marks is considerably less

No, the idea he's coming back from the injury is the project. He'd have to be rebuilt.

Goalie injuries don't always simply just heal up and they are fine. You can't tell me there is no risk in taking on a goalie after an injury.
