So what you are saying is you sign Bertuzzi to a contract and then immediately trade him to Toronto? When they can just sign him as a UFA if they wanted him.

If that trade was supposed to be during the 2023 trade deadline, then Toronto both could not afford him, and most likely wouldn't want him in the first place (especially with having to give up Minten). Bertuzzi rubbed a lot of Canadians the wrong way when he refused to get vaccinated, then could not travel to Canada, and then bad-mouthed our government. Plus it would always run the risk for Toronto if there was hypothetically another semi-lockdown, Bertuzzi could not play for them.

Yeah, no way Minten is included in any deal for bertuzzi. And makes zero sense to sign him before trading him anyway

The intention is that the trades happen at the deadline this year, and I just signed them to get the returns in the system.

Why are we trading what looks to be a stellar 2nd round choice in Minten, plus a 2nd and 3rd for somebody with 5 points in 17 games and who has been healthy enough to play in just 50.5% of Detroit's games in the past 3 seasons?

forget about all that political garbage, won't get into that debate, but the guy has been healthy in just 50.5% of Detroits games in the last 3 seasons and has 5 points in 17 games this season. No thanks to this deal.

Just to clarify, we are both saying no to the deal, just for different reasons? That gave me a good laugh smile

yup, just saying outside of vax/government opinions, agree or disagree with bertuzzi - his play on the ice and his health have spoken. Their verdict: not worth near this package.

Basically bringing back the same team..... this will not get the Wings closer to a playoff spot. They would need to add someone in FA or a trade to make the team better.

What is the point to sign Suter at $2.5M (LOL) then scratch him. Might as well just let a rookie be that spot.
