Obviously I am being dramatic for effect when I say this (there definitely are worse contracts for more money and term)- I watch a ton of Pittsburgh games and I think the Carter contract is the worst in the league. And I am a massive Carter fan from the Philly days. But just watching him take shifts out there might be the toughest thing I have ever had to do watching hockey all these years.

Over Vlasic? yea Vlasic at least looks like an NHL D man this year but he is playing like a 1-1.5 mil depth D and not a 7 mil for 3 more years D

Lol yeah like I said there definitely are some worse ones. But I have seen so much of Carter this year and it's been wild how bad he is. The Pitt and AVS game the other day was a great game, but every time Carter was on the ice I wanted to look away. It's been so bad this year I had to come onto the first Pitt ArmGM I saw and just say that. It's how I feel in my heart. It's been so bad, I had to just put it out there.

He was serviceable last season, but he has absolutely hit a wall this year and it's clear he is toast. He doesn't even attempt to play any type of defense and his offense is putrid at 5v5.

All 6 of the Pens games this year against BOS and CAR have been decided by 1 goal - 3 of them in OT.

They're better, yes. But clearly not so much better. That's my point. And anything can happen in the playoffs - we see that every year.

I guess it depends on what qualifies as a good team. I count 9 regulation wins against playoff teams at quick first glance
