Sabres would have to be allowed to talk to Dumba so we’d at least have a good idea that we could sign him
As long as we could do that, this trade proposal seems reasonable

At that price I don't think extending dumba is a deal breaker.

Why? Buffalo needs some defence. Dumba is not going to do that. He's not playing in the Buffalo top4.

Oh stop. Don’t be that guy. You posted an opinion on an anonymous Internet forum, who’s entire point is discussion, and you’re going to get sour when someone asks you a question - again, about the opinion you posted on the discussion based anonymous Internet forum.

well if you pay attention to my AGM the players who come on a good basis the last year were Faksa Dubois and Foligno ! A good guy who can replace Armia on a top 9 role and who can hit. If I were to look for size around our kid I would love to see what he still can bring to the game.

Don’t think the Sabres are gonna spend assets on rentals
So i think the only way they’d trade for Dumba is if they wanted to extend him-AND- they thought they could extend him

But what’s the point of buying for a guy that will have been long gone by the time the habs are decent?

Kevyn Adam's said last year and again this year that he's not giving up assets for short term gains. So in short he's also said that he doesn't want to break up the team just for a few late draft picks. So any trade he makes it would have to be a sign and trade or they would have to talk to him first.

Exactly
I could see him possibly trading a mid-late round pick for a depth rental- but not a 2nd

I’m hoping we get Meier
Now that NyR has essentially bowed out by getting Tarasenko,
that just leaves Us & Jersey- so the price for him shouldn’t get too high
And he’d be a great long term fit here

If we bring a vet to protect our kids would it be wise to have a big hitter who has leadership?

You can get that in UFA pretty easily.

Yeah I don't think he fits them at all. He's not playing ahead of anyone in the Top4, and he will probably make too much for too long as the RHD on the 3rd pair. Plus, I think they would rather have that bigger dman on the bottom pair, and they have Lyubushkin still signed for another year right?

Foligno is not a rental and is worth Mids + a second on his own IMO. Dumba would just be icing on the cakem

Disagree
Mitts is worth roughly the same as Foligno based on his age making up for any difference in quality of play
