TDL moves

Team: 2022-23 Chicago Blackhawks
Initial Creation Date: Feb. 11, 2023
Published: Feb. 11, 2023
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Trades
1.
CHI
  1. Myers, Philippe
  2. Namestnikov, Vladislav
  3. 2023 3rd round pick (TBL)
  4. 2024 2nd round pick (TBL)
  5. 2025 1st round pick (TBL)
TBL
  1. Lafferty, Sam
  2. McCabe, Jake ($2,000,000 retained)
Additional Details:
This one seems to get some agreement on both sides. Not 100%, but I've heard both TBL fans and Hawk fans say yes to this deal. Likely because of Stamkos' comment....we don't care about picks.
2.
DAL
  1. Kane, Patrick ($5,250,000 retained)
Additional Details:
Hawks will find a double retention partner.
3.
CHI
  1. 2024 2nd round pick (WPG)
WPG
  1. Toews, Jonathan ($5,250,000 retained)
Additional Details:
Goes down like the MAF trade. It's a 2nd with conditions to a 1st. I tend to think those conditions will be easier than MAF's since center have more value at the TDL, but who knows.

Maybe it's the WPG 1st with a pick going back?
4.
CHI
  1. Blomqvist, Joel [Reserve List]
  2. Blueger, Teddy
  3. Kapanen, Kasperi
  4. 2023 2nd round pick (PIT)
  5. 2024 3rd round pick (PIT)
PIT
  1. Domi, Max
  2. Raddysh, Taylor
Additional Details:
I saw this from a PIT fan. It's a good trade. I'm not 100% KD will do it, because I think he believes theres untapped potential with TRad, but imo it's good.

Jets can't trade the first if they go after both toews and meier

They'll get beat out on Meier.

I do the Tampa trade for the memes, collecting Tampa picks aren’t worth much but it sure is fun to see on cap friendly

At some point they can't keep winning. Stamkos/Hedman will be 36 and 35 respectively. Plus that division is getting much harder in the coming years. BUF, OTT, DET are all up and comers

Eventually they will have to rebuild, but I don’t see them being a non-playoff team in the next 3 seasons.

Yeah I don't really know about this.

Chicago is rebuilding. A 1st round pick that's two years out doesn't hold much value to them when that's the time some (if not, most) of their good prospects will be getting reps in the league.
It's not a terrible package, but if other teams are willing to offer a similar deal with picks in THIS years draft class, they'd rather take that.

Also Vlad has a NMC, he won't waive it for a rebuilder. I feel like Lafferty isn't much of an upgrade, he's just cheaper.

Both being cost controlled for next year. The NMC is an issue. I'd have to check whether or not there's a different way for cap space. I'm a Hawks fan. I'd do it. 1sts are needed for a rebuild. Sure it's not 2023, but a rebuild isn't going to happen over night.

It's most likely a 3 dog race between jets leafs and NJ and it's up to sj to accept the best offer also not giving up a first for toews more like 2024 2nd and wagner

Interesting TB move, haven't seen it before but i'm good with it.

I think things are trending towards Kane not waiving honestly, but we will know for sure within 10 days

I don't think the hawks are getting enough back in the PIT deal

I still think Tampa would do the trade, although I think either Lafferty or Domi is their main target from Chicago. McCabe would be a solid add as well, especially if they don't think they can extend Cole(who has been pretty good for them this year). As far as Names, he has a m-ntc where he can exclude 10 teams, I believe. He could exclude Chicago, but even so, Tampa could trade him elsewhere and slightly alter the main trade with Chicago, or Brisebois could always play hardball and tell him that he'll be waived and a cellar dweller will claim him anyway(not that I think it would come to that). I guess it depends on if Tampa wants to keep a pick or two in the earlier rounds over the next 2-3 years and whether they view Cole as someone they can realistically extend. If yes, not sure they go for McCabe, but if not, then he becomes much more appealing.
