Who was Chevy scouting

Description
As most people know Chevy was at the Tampa vs San Jose game scouting someone on the Sharks (reportedly Meier)... But what if he was looking at EK? I don't like this move in any way but Chevy needs to make a big splash to make the Jets serious contenders. Thoughts?
Trades
WPG
  1. Karlsson, Erik
Additional Details:
Im 100% sure EK wouldn't waive his NMC for Winnipeg, but you never know.
SJS
Again I don't like this at all. Chevy could very well be scouting Bonino, Labanc, or some other depth piece, but just a thought.

I wouldnt worry. Karlsson would probably rather go back to sweden than waive for WPG.

The obvious answer to the question is Timo, because his trade is the kind that can sink or float a ship.

    It's Timo.

Did you hear Hoffman got 3 assists today? He's all yours!

Agreed on karlsson. Definitely not waiving for wpg. Obviously is Meier. Jets got linked to Meier to further that speculation. Chevy talked about seizing the moment, I’d imagine landing Meier does exactly that.

It's still unlikely Karlsson is traded during the season. So I would not expect a GM to be scouting games in February for anything other than trade deadline adds.

I'm guessing Chevy was there to scout Svechnikov, probably thinking he might be able to grab him for free on waivers!

KC-PLD-Svech reunite!!! PoMo and Dave ruined the potential of that line.

    Good gawd did they ever!

And then to have Ehlers, Scheifele, Wheeler, Perfetti, Stastny and Copp for most of the season yet they still couldn't make much work!

Maurice's biggest downfall, the guy couldn't build a line to save his ****ing life!

Also add onto the fact that Chevy could have been watching Essyimont. He's been one of San Jose's best forwards, I'm actually starting to miss him.

I truly doubt Grier has the balls to trade him at a loss and/or any GM has the balls to trade for that contract. This is such a risk averse league and Chevy is probably the most risk averse, passive GM.
    Its unlikely.
But most trades here arent coming close to happening.
League is stuck in cap hell or tanking.
