Canucks easily decline. They are trying to clear cap space, Ceci is a pure cap dump to them. Would take at least a 1st to convince them to take on Ceci and his massive deal. They already have enough 3rd pair quality d-men, no need to add another overpaid one to the mix without being paid handsomely to do so.

That doesn't land Timo. Two cap dumps there as well. Oilers are not adding to their top six without giving up Schaefer, Bourgault and/or Broberg.

That trade makes no sense to the Devils to chip away at depth for a wing that doesn't move the needle.

Massive deal? 3rd pairing? Cap dump? What are you talking about... is this response a copy, paste, and change name response on this site? It's tired and dumb

That wouldn’t do it for Sevo. There’s no reason for NJ to become a worse team for that return

Looking at the Tarasenko, Mikkola trade (I'd argue they're of higher value then Meier). I strongly disagree, and fear you'll be disappointed in the return for Timo if he's traded.

It’s very simple. Vancouver has about 4-5 mil in cap space this offseason. Ceci would leave them with only a little over 1 mil to sign Bear, Dermott, and Schenn. Thus, he’s a cap dump to the Canucks, as they don’t have the space to bring him in. He isn’t all that great playing on a good team, and he’s going to play much worse on a terrible defensive team like Vancouver. Not worth giving up assets for as it downgrades our defence, decreases our cap space, and causes us to lose at least two, if not all three of Bear, Dermott, or Schenn due to not having enough cap left to sign them. There is absolutely no scenario where it makes sense for the Canucks to give up assets for Ceci.
