hard press to make playoffs if they dont, move these assets .. i know too many trades even if one or two are done ..than they are getting set for offseason

ya thats what i though so like desciption said if ottAWa does even two trades...than at least they get something for the ufa's

i am just thinking how the new ownership group would aproach this , not sure how they will approach Cat this offseason , they qualify him? or do they move him?

I don't think moving him is an option. They wouldn't get enough of a return to justify it.

The Ducks aren't paying a 3rd rounder for retention that they don't need.

Every cap strapped team with a contract to dump said the same exact thing last summer and zero teams had any trouble hitting the floor, including the Ducks. Nothing is easier in the NHL than spending money.

Zaitsev plus a 2nd to Anaheim is a trade you see often enough suggested on here. I think most Ducks fans are OK with that idea.

No need to retain on a cap dump. We're perfectly willing to take Zaitsev at fill load with the later of your two 2024 seconds in return for our 2024 seventh.

Since the Senators are already retaining on Matt Murray this season (and next), they can only retain on two more transactions.
