If the Kings want to be better for the playoffs why move Durzi over Walker?

Because nobody wants Walker.

I feel like Spence deserves a shot on that 3rd pair. His point totals in the AHL is very impressive. Plus I have him on my team in the Fantasy game so would love for him to make it

So simple.

We might have to include Walker for cap reasons, but we might have accrued enough cap space to cover the negative shown here.

I think that we would specify that it would be the later of our two 2024 firsts if we retain our own.

Very imaginative.

Walker isn't a cap dump, I genuinely don't think he'd clear waivers and pretty sure Dorion came to see him play twice as I can't see Roy being in play in any situation (we don't have a suitable replacement). Walker used to play top-4 minutes, and has improved since coming off a brutal injury, someone would take the risk.

Spence will get time on the third pair next season, but for a playoff run, you want Durzi with Edler if we end up with Chychryn.

There’s no way Dorion is there for Walker. He isn’t a top 4D and that’s what we need. JBD will likely be the full time 3rd pair RD next year so no way his plan is to acquire Walker to fill a top 4 role

Can't imagine Roy was available, and not sure who the Sens and Kings would be trade partners for.

The only 3 RDs I have interest in are Roy, Durzi or Grans .

I'd pray to the hockey gods that this pick ends up being 3rd overall.

It won’t lol. Everything is going wrong this year, they’re shooting % is way below expected goals , they haven’t acquired a good top 4RD and they’re still over .500

They were still hyped up by y'all as a playoff team. They're like 3 points away from last in the division and they're 0.452.

They lost their top centre to injury right off the bat and had to play Brassard or a rookie in the top 6 as a centre. Right off the bat it’s not good .

Grans wasn't playing in LA, so that leaves two and if the Kings are moving Durzi, I don't think Bransstrom would be the right fit. I wonder if Bjornfot played in either of those games.

Many teams lose good players and he's not their top center. The Leafs lost one of their best defenders and are still very good. Ottawa was just overhyped this year for no valid reason.

They should’ve got Marino, still scratching my head why it didn’t happen

Agreed. Many teams could have matched that package. Ty Smith is more mid than the middle-east

I don’t get it, they needed that exact player and he was right there and they didn’t need to move a 1st round pick

I still dont think Ottawa needs a guy like Durzi. They need someone better defensively. Justin Holl could be a good option in free agency and Im dead serious

because the 4th round pick that Walker would get in return doesn't make any of the rest of the deals work

It’s easy to dump on Walker because he’s getting 3rd pair minutes. But he’s more reliable than most 3rd pairing defensemen and he probably would be second pair on a number of other teams. Teams like Toronto and Vancouver would easily pay a 2nd rounder for him. If Doughty or Durzi get injured, they would plug him into the power play role. He’s playing very well right now and is more than likely getting inquiries from other teams. It’s more just a numbers game with him at the moment.
