Really? I would eat that Schmidt contract all day and send Toews if it means the rest of the return upgrades to Chaz Lucius and a 1st round pick. I would argue that CHI shouldn't be sending that 2nd round pick, though. Maybe a 3rd or a 4th. Also worth noting that we are gonna need help hitting the cap floor for a couple years and Schmidt's actual salary over these last 2 years of his deal is $1M less than his cap hit. It's even possible that his contract is flippable with full retention. I might also rather the prospect be Lambert over Lucius because of Davidsons stated preference for good skaters, but I'd be fine with either one.

I doubt WPG is this eager to get rid of Schmidt, though.

Okay lmao I may have spoken a bit to soon. I did not realize how good of a prospect Chaz is. I gotta do more research on these damn prospects it has been so long since I have cared about other teams....

No worries. haha. It happens. He has fallen down most rankings by quite a bit, kind of a slow year for him. But he is still a very good prospect, for now.
