Puzzle Pieces for Kevyn

Description
By no means do I think Kevyn Adams will do any of these trades, but it will follow his mantra for only making trades if it contributes to long term success. These 3 guys are my most desired for this roster. We don't need all these picks and prospects any longer. They identified their core, now add some puzzle pieces to this roster to make them an actual playoff team.

Bill Armstrong is in a massive rebuild. Rumors that he wants a 1st for Crouse if he would even give him up. Philly's 2nd is basically a late first given how deep this draft class is. Ryan Johnson wants NHL opportunity, and I can see him signing in the dessert and playing meaningful minutes with Minny teammate Logan Cooley.

Why is Weegar even rumored to be available? Maybe Calgary is worried about their future cap hell, but woah would they be stupid to let him go. He's a top 4 defenseman and a shutdown defender. They get a young NHL center in Calgary-native Krebs, and a 2023 2nd should be a favorable return for a team and fan-base that is reeling.

Boone Jenner is a captain for a reason, and the Sabres need more older leadership in their locker room. Mitts is a younger player finding his way in the league, and currently on a 50-point pace. Add in the 4th and a quality prospect in Rosen, I would hope this could be enough to push the needle. If not, we have the ammo to meet the demand.

I mostly agree. Although, it'll be hard to fit their current roster under the cap long term. Highly doubt Weegar would be one to go, but Calgary is in an interesting spot.

Calgary's cap issues next season are grossly overblown. Moving a 2M contract and promoting a young guy or signing a 13th forward at league min is not hard

Grossly overblown? Yes. My issue comes the 2024-2025 season. Calgary's identity as a core is a bit skewed now, and they have a lot of decisions to make in who they pay/who they let walk. This current roster shuffle they continually do is interesting imo

Weegar is a Good Hockey player with a contract that doesn't age well.

As we’ve said several times a day to every fanbase, Boone Jenner is not available. Obviously he’s a player thirty-one other teams want. And because for that, if he were on the block, you’re bidding against thirty other teams to get that under-market-contract-having sweet Ontario meat. Sadly, your local Buffalo rumor-monger was wrong.

24/25? Im not sure how that has anything to do with a guy on an 8 year extension. Calgary has a good collection of young up and coming prospects that can step in.

If anything since all 4 of Hanifin, Tanev, Zadorov, and Kylington are on expiring contracts trading Weegar is even worse of a decision

Cap should hopefully bump significantly by then.

Probably try and take care of the most important contracts such as Lindy and Hanifin.

Trade who we can't resign or fit at the 2024 deadline.

The Weegar stuff is just rumors that got picked up and run with, Kyper and Bourne mentioned it, Friedman absolutely shut it down.
