Kulak is worth a 3rd. And Boston has zero interest. They have 3 better LD.

Nashville Trade: Overpayment by Edmonton - I would assume the 2 1sts are for Ekholm and the players for Jeannot. Seems like a lot to give up...

Chicago Trade: Underpayment - getting those 2 players is going to cost more than some lower-end draft picks + Jesse who should be heading to waivers. Chicago declines.

How on earth can you possibly think Kulak gets a 1st but you can get Patrick Kane with 2 teams giving you max retention (AND Lafferty on top of it) without one up lmao

My argument is that if gavrikov is worth a first so is kulak. Boston Has been looking for another defender in gavrikov.

    Your argument is incorrect.

And yes Boston is looking to upgrade their top 4. Kulak does not crack their lineup.

Lol. Gavrikov is 6’3 215Ib 23 minute a night #3 D man who does not need to be sheltered. Grizz is none of those things.

It’s not Forbort they are bumping.

Kulak does not bump anyone from Boston.

    Gavrikov is a #3

    Grizz is 4/5

    Forbort is 5

    Kulak is a 5

    Grizz and Forbort > Kulak

Boston has $21.8M in cap space next year, according to CF - but that doesn't include the $4.5M in expected overages because of Krejci & Bergeron's bonus-laden contracts. So they're down to $17.3M

Sounds like a lot, right? Well, hold on - you have to re-sign David Pastrnak. You have to re-sign or replace Bergeron & Krejci. Jeremy Swayman needs a new contract, too - and that's just the big names(Trent Frederic, Nick Foligno, Craig Smith, Connor Clifton, & Tomas Nosek will all need new contracts or replacements.) That $17.3M is eaten up pretty damn fast - and you're asking Boston to actually drop it to something like $14.6M by adding Kulak's contract to the ledger?

Gavrikov as a rental, with retention, is something they're obviously considering spending a 1st on. I'd argue that Kulak's remaining term puts him in a spot where Boston wouldn't take him for free.
