Taylor Hall to Yotes comp for Meier

Created by: Tbrew

Description
Using the Taylor Hall deal here as a comp for Meier

https://www.capfriendly.com/trades/players/taylor-hall
Trades
NJD
  1. Meier, Timo ($3,000,000 retained)
Additional Details:
Meier —— Hall
SJS
  1. Holtz, Alexander
  2. Mukhamadullin, Shakir
  3. 2023 1st round pick (NJD)
  4. 2024 3rd round pick (NJD)
Additional Details:
Alex Holtz —— Yotes 1st (at the time of trade it was in the 20s, as the Yotes led their division)

Devils 2023 1st—— Kevin Bahl.
Yes I know this is wildly off of Bahl’s value, but it’s value I’m adding for Meier not having a significant injury history like Taylor Hall.

Shakir Mukhamadulin —— Nate Schnarr and Nick Merkley
Going with quality over quantity here. Schnarr wasn’t more than a guy with an AHL ceiling when traded, and Merkley was a known risk with pedigree, while Mukhamadulin projects to be a top 4 defender

3rd round pick —— Yotes conditional 3rd rounder
Self explanatory. Maybe there are conditions, maybe it conveys.

Mukhamadulin can be swapped with Casey as well to fit the right shot D need in San Jose. Figured this was better than two nothing forward prospects though.

Sharks fan view Nemec, Mukhamadullin and Holtz as "B prospects"

(and Thomas Bordeleau and Ozzy Wiesblatt are "A prospects")

Time to move on.

The man read the Sheng Peng article, and suddenly decided the entire Sharks' fan base views Nemec and Hughes as reasonable trade pieces, and everybody else is horrible.

I'm not saying anything either way, but r/SanJoseSharks definitely feels that way. And I've had some discussions here that would indicate people don't think Shakir or Holtz are worthy pieces.

Well I'd definitely take this deal as listed. It's more than debrincat got imo.
But apparently Grier will only take Mercer...

I never go on the subreddit, usually not a... well thought out place. I know a few fans are nuts, but him deciding to take an article he asked for which said Holtz was a B and Nemec was a A/B (but the actual suggested trade was reasonable), and then saying the entire sharks fan base views Holtz and Nemec as being B prospects just goes to say how disconnected from reality that person is.
