Blues are retooling and likely want someone under more control than Konecny like Meier.

Meier has less control then Konecny considering he can just accept the qualifying offer and leave as a UFA in 1 year?

Blues won't trade for him unless a tentative deal is in place

If that’s all the Flyers are asking for TK, I see the Canes being very interested. That being said, I don’t think JVR gets both a 2nd and 3rd, but a 2nd for half retention I would do.

Blues will offer a Kyrou/Thomas like offer for him. Personally I think the Blues should just strip to bare bones and rebuild, not retool. With their roster it could be a quick turnaround similar to Boston via 2015

There's probably a timeline where the Blues entertain something like this and it's very tempting, but I kinda think they pass on this for now.
