anyone who's seen mathesons play this year or his analytics from the last 2 seasons know that he's officially broken out. 16 points in 25 games and +9 on horrible MTL. He would be of huge help to EDM for the next 4 seasons. Mcdavid and Drai said they want a puck moving D, and that's what Mathewson is.

Matheson is above 80% war for dmen and is trending upwards the last 3 seasons. I've also eye tested him for his 25 games with us this season and he's legit. He's proven that he can handle first pair competition (something he wasn't doing in PIT) and has excelled.

Look if EDM doesn't trade for him so be it, he'll be huge in MTL for the next 4 years on that cheap deal.
