Pushing through playoff a guy like Armia along the board will be better than Mittelstadt. Also he can help on PK too.

17 goals over the past three seasons with a $3,400,000 salary until 2025, if you rmoved Casey and Erik, Buffalo would say NO!

The Jeannot trade just made Hughes perk up. I guarantee you that.

Carolina has rumours of adding JT Miller. Hughes can go in there and pitch a cheaper, better complementary player in Josh Anderson with less baggage easily to counter the Jeannot move to TB.
The Eastern conference arms race is absolutely bonkers at this point. It would be crazy not to pitch any valuable asset.

goals are nothing if a team can't defend their zone. Also if you are just looking at production you might miss 80% of the game dude

Jeannot and Anderson are similar quality players when accounting for age and how they project the next 5 years going forward

2025 1st, 24 2nd, 3rd 4th 5th 2023.

Let's say the lightning extend jeannot at various points over the next 4 years for 3 mill AAV.

Anderson at 5.5 aav is 27.5 this year+ next 4
Jeannot 13 mill this year + next 4.

What would you say the price on 14.5 mill is? I'd say at least a 1st and a 2nd

Now that price is down to 3rd, 4th 5th, Foote.

The value on jeannot is his control, age, and salary going forward.

A team may overpay for anderson but his contract and age means he's not really comparable to Jeannot

I wouldnt move him because they'd immediately have to replace him when they need to compete. They gave Lucic that ridiculous offer in free agency during 2016 because they've been lacking that combination of size, skill and tenacity for years. Every team looks for these type of players despite so many here that quote analytics ad nauseam.

But, if its even the same price as Jeannot then you have to do it! A 1st, good prospect and a decent roster player would be the template. Otherwise, keep him for sure. He can be traded down the line but this will have to be timed properly as he doesnt fit the Habs window and his true value is in the post season, every post season he doesnt participate is a loss at every level.

Armia I think is a great buyout candidate over the Summer. Its not too expensive. They need to move wingers. He simply cant stay in the lineup and was never consistent throughout his career. You dont pay 4th liners this much money.

If you would watch the games you would KNOW assists are generated from strong board work.
22 assists over 3 years is not a sign of that skill!
I will take Casey's 28 assists this year.

Armia has 15 , Casey has 34.
What other metric do you need to prove you are wrong?

BTW 57% of Casey's assist are primary only 43% of Armia's are primary
You are not getting any assests from Buffalo for Armia.

you are just looking at number but not contextualization of those numbers. Armia is doing it in a blowed up team even with lung problem due to freaking long covid symptom ... there you have it!

So, the Sabres should trade the younger, cheaper, better offensive player for someone who is possibly going to be bought out and has long Covid?

The Sabres don't need forwards and Armia is a cap dump on a terrible contract for 2 more years

You think Armia gets the Sabres to the Stanley Cup? That's hilarious!
Sounds like you need to hang onto to playoff performer Armia and leave
younger, cheaper, better Mittlestadt to Buffalo.
