Kane wants another cup. zero chance of that in Buf this year. Maybe sign there as an FA in offseason. Be better outcome for Sabres. Free that way

That would make sense. Except Kane isn't a top line forward. And his top line forward doesn't play defense. Something the 3rd highest scoring team in the NHL needs more than a -1% finisher

Glad we didn’t. Adding Kane doesn’t change our cup chances much. Waste of assets for a player that can’t play defense and hasn’t been good analytically on offense this year. (Albeit on a bad team)

I hope that you know Kane had a full NTC. He picked NYR as the only team he'd accept a trade to, and hence the low return. Just like when the Sabres were forced to trade Hall to Boston for peanuts.
