Panthers have you a first and a reallly good prospect. So unless that’s coming back y oh ain’t getting Reinhart for a mid second and a useless goalie

That's the issue here, Sabres are not giving Panthers back the same value. Reinhart is not worth it, it's just sentimental. |

They have their backs against the wall here, no 1st, playoffs far away, cap issues ahead. At draft, Reinhart value will be much lower.

Didn't Reinhart refuse to go more than year to year on his contracts in Buffalo so that he could hit FA as early as possible? Then he signed a multi year deal when he got to Florida that bought out a couple of his UFA years? Seems like maybe he didn't want to be there?

For Panthers ? Yeah. Pts% they are behind everybody except Washington. With injuries to Barkov, Bennett and Knight out - they are in deep trouble.

I don't know, just read about his potential availability and made this thread. Teams like Hurricanes can offer their 1st, something like 25-32th pick, while Flyers 2nd would be 37th ? Is that that much worse ?

That is absolutely not true. I’d say he has more value than when we got him. Signed for a couple more years. Almost a ppg winger. Plus the panthers aren’t selling for a horrible return.

The Canes wouldn't be attaching a league average backup goaltender that's signed into next year...they'd be adding a good prospect. Knight may or may not be back this year, it doesn't really matter. The reality is that he will be back next year, which would leave the Panthers with $16.3 mil invested in 3 goalies. The team would also be significantly worse without Reinhart, leaving them to fall down the standings, which seems dumb considering they don't have their own picks this year. The funny thing is, Comrie has been just as bad as Lyon this year, so it's not even necessarily an upgrade over the last 20 games of the year.

If Reinhart is moved, I've gotta think it's more of a hockey move, involving a solid d-man coming back to Florida.

Check your data, my friend.
0.72 ppg. Signed for exactly 1 more year after this at 6,5 mil.
Panthers have 11 mil in cap space for 2023/24. Someone has to go, looking at roster for me it's more Reinhart than Bennett, Verheghae or Duclair, so the reports have something in them.

You are saying that Comrie is deal breaker, while having Bob and Knight for almost 15 mil next year is just fine, then sure, Comrie could be sent to waivers. As for prospects ? Kisakov, Poltapov are available.

He did after buffalo refused to sign him long term. We bridged him after his elc

Can't say I blame him

Yeah they dont need to sign any one. Top 9 is signed top 4 is signed. He’s over a ppg pace since December. Had 1 point his first 10 games and like 3 the first 20. Take those away and he’s over a ppg. You ain’t getting him back for crap. If he’s traded he’ll bring back a top 4
D man. Not for picks. We dont give a **** about picks.

That's absolutely not what I'm saying. What I'm saying is that the deal makes zero sense for Florida, and that there are a number of reasons why. One of those reasons is absolutely the fact that you're perceiving "value" coming from Comrie. Another is that it's an extremely underwhelming offer when you consider what other players have been going for. The third is that you're ignoring Florida's place in the standings, and that they're far more likely to try and add than subtract. There is no value in plumetting down the standings for them. The finals reason, is that you've drawn this line as if the Panthers *HAVE* to move him, and that the Sabres are the only team that they can deal with.

I get trying to get him, and think he'd be a great addition, but you've gotta give up something good to get something good.

Comrie has little value, his contract is not terrible and Panther need goalies, Sabres not, since this is also about acquiring Saros.
I read report that Hurricanes can add Reinhart for their 1st as main part. Flyers 2nd is couple spot lower, so I did this thread to get a feeling in situation

Yeah, I mean, I guess I just don't feel like Florida needs goalies. If they do, they'll just go get a cheap one on an expiring contract (ie. Stolarz). Think the main thing that you said there is "for their 1st as main part". For instance, the "1st" was the main part in last years Hampus Lindholm deal, but there were also 2 2nd round picks that came...or the 1st was the "main part" for Giroux last year, but they also got Owen Tippett...that sort of thing.

Honestly, I don't remember seeing anything on Reinhart recently, but I just can't imagine a scenario where they wouldn't fill another hole on their roster if they moved him.

Nashville has abundance of wingers in our prospect pool. So this trade doesn’t do anything for Nashville to think about trading saros. Top goalies don’t come available often that’s why you don’t know the value of top goaltenders but saros would command a 1st and your top prospect(savioe) plus
