You're delusional to think the yotes would even consider that

Caps decline easily. Dowd is a great 4th line C on a good contract. Foegele, not so much.

When someone offers you a middle 6 winger for your 4C you just say thank you

lmao. Bourgault high end prospect. 1st and Yamo at worst is a 3rd liner with promise.

I agree Yotes didnt get enough with a 1st, 2nd, 2nd but this was a decent package

Not when that 4C is the best one in the entire league and the middle 6 winger is mediocre at best

They’re findable though, and Niemelainen is a good add too. Dowd has a price, could be a bit more than this offer but wsh would sell him for sure.

No… 4Cs don’t get 1sts. Lars Eller just went for a 2 with retention.

If Pierre Engvall is worth a 3rd then Foegele is worth a 3rd too and dowd is about that

Dowd has more points that Foegele, is cheaper than Foegele, plays 2nd line minutes, and Washington has zero need for mediocre wingers when Protas and other prospects need spots. Niem is not enough to make Washington consider trading the guy who effectively plays 2C at a 1.3 mil cap hit, especially when they intend to contend next year.

I would personally hold onto him. But if they were to sell him, I’d think they would have to get a pick in the first two rounds to consider. It would have to be crazy high value for them to consider based on the minutes he plays and the contract he’s under.

At the end of the day, he plays the volume he does because Wsh is deficient. If somebody offers them a 2nd, they should take it.

WSH is far from deficient at center, with Strome, Kuznetsov, Backstrom all on the roster, Dowd plays high volume because he excels at it, not due to a lack of centers. If they considered a full sell, they should absolutely consider it, but since they will be attempting to contend next year, it is absolutely not worth dealing him for a lottery ticket 5 years down the line when they won’t be competitive anyway. Since they want to contend, I wouldn’t consider trading him (or any forward of value signed past 2023) for a guess at a player who might help when the team is rebuilding,
