Well, so much for my dream that John Klingberg with 50% retention ($3.5 million) is going to get a 2024 second.
I wouldn't be surprised if Klingberg doesn't get traded (again). The market for defensemen this deadline seems pretty weak, and even with 50% retention the $3.5M will be an issue for most playoff teams.
Yes we don't get any retained salary but we could potentially get another forward with the 2.6 mil we have. I'd like another top forward picked up, even if it's a rental.
I'd love to see Domi back in Raleigh. He's more than $2.6M, but Chicago still has one retention slot or they could take back Coghlan or Stepan. I'm a little surprised he hasn't moved yet. Maybe Chicago's trying to sign him.

I saw that they're trying to re-sign him since he loves it there apparently. But we'll see in the next 48 hours or so
