I give you this , you're almost good enough to make it past TBL
I mean after 2023-24 season when Stamkos goes UFA , totally different story
That's NJD time then unless Stammer -resigns for half his current contract with 1-2 years term(i doubt)
Take Stamkos out of the Equation they're still a deep team but they lose that Superstar/Allstar/ Playoff Juggernaut in Stamkos that put them over.

What would be a huge dick move to solidify NJD as the heir of domanance in the East to TBL would be Signing Stammer as a UFA for that Middle 6 role you got Eller in

Sharangovich doesn't deserve to break $3m right now, and I had been a huge fan. I can't see going for Graves on that term honestly. Schmid will be fine for a backup. I don't trust Jones to be more than a dead cat bounce season. Bratt will probably get $8m.

Sharangovich will either get 1-year around his QO amount ($2.05m) or a 4-year deal like this one that buys out 2 years of UFA. (2 year deal would bring him straight to UFA).

So I have no problem with $4.3m x 4 years. But we probably do the 1-year first.

I feel those "middle six" guys you spend too much on is where you get in trouble. I am not sure of his upside if he won't be cracking the top 6.

He has played plenty in our top-6...most recently on line with Bratt and Hughes.
Can play center or wing.
Has produced 20-25g pace since arriving in NHL.
And is one of our best defensive forwards.

A 4-year deal around $4 to $4.5 million...its a pretty solid middle-of-the-lineup investment.

He has, and yet we just got a legit top 6 guy. I'm telling you, I want to see Yegor do well, but I don't think we are watching the same player this year. He's been super soft and can't finish like he has in the past. I'm worried he has plateaued.

He can be streaky at times, but at the end-of-the-day, his numbers will be there.

Last 82 games: 22g, 19a, 41pts
Prior 82 games: 25g, 28a, 53pts

Not a huge dip.

Plus, he can play multiple positions (center and wing), is probably our best defensive forward after Nico.

Keep him.

I don't love how you played with those numbers. This season he's on a 37pt pace, I wouldn't count him being hot last year.

Last year, Sharangovich-Hughes-Mercer WAS great line. Here is the issue, without Hughes, Sharangovich is not the same player. I'm not paying him at "Hughes bonus point" numbers when he likely won't be there.

Sharangovich can't handle himself away from those top 6 forwards. Could he be in the top 6 next year? MAYBE? Can he beat out Palat? MAYBE? Should I pay for top 6 minutes when he drops off so much for bottom 6? That's why I wouldn't go long term with him and certainly nothing near $4m.

I said I think he gets 1-year, around $2m this summer.

But if presented with 4y x $4m, I think he will be worth that.

And I expect him to hit 20+ goals each year.
