That doesn’t make sense for Drouin and frankly it might be an over pay. COL would probably do a 4 or 5th rd pick for him 50% retained.

It wouldnt be a overpay and the habs would have 0 interest in making that trade.

It pretty big evidence of Merkley still being a garbage human being that at 22 your team trades you for essentially a waiver player (which is what happened this year). Gainey was areound peterborough when Merkley was kicked off the team by his teammates so he knows whats up.

I think it’s a little harsh to call a kid who has documented emotional control (trying to word that delicately) issues in the past as a teenager trying to not only mature as a human but carve out a career in a a high visibility area. Him and Kaut had both requested trades for the Avs Merkley represents a reclamation project who has talent but also fills a spot that they literally have nothing of in the pipeline as a right shot d. That all being said Drouin I would think if he was willing to play defense or at least make an effort could be a fit in COL, which is why I think COL is interested in him probably more so in the off season.

Its not harsh its reality. If you are a 22 year old 21st overall pick right handed D and your team dumps ypu for a 30 year old 8th dman (which the fact they didnt get a prospect back is pretty major evidence one wasnt offered) and theres no career altering injury that is a massive red flag that is easily linked to past event.

I dont think you understand just how BAD of a person you need to be for your entire junior hockey team to petition the GM to bar ypu from the team. After only half a season.
