Swayman offer-sheet

Bruins up against the cap next year if someone were to offer-sheet swayman would you rather lose your future franchise goalie for 2 more years of ullmark or sell high on him and get a good center when Bergy and Krejci are gone

That's good points. LA for sure adds here, probably Clarke or a 1st and 2nd.

That's a good point but an offer sheet of up to 4.3m would only cost a team a second rounder. Heck the Kings could make the offer sheet and keep Default and just lose a second. Good teams and some rising teams like Sabres/Wings/Devils/Canes could be in on an Swayman offer sheet.

He seems to like it in Boston so I think it would have to be a pretty big offer-sheet, but I could see it happening besides the first few games this year the guy has been lights out and east number one goalie

Selling high on ullmark is justifiable.

Adding cap like that in the deal isnt

Good point, I would think the bruins would want a center prospect in return though, LA seems to have an abundant amount of centers, don’t know who they would move, they don’t seem to want to move Byfield, Turcotte stinks maybe Tyler Madden plus picks, I liked him at northeastern but probably not high end enough for Ullmark

Pinelli would be the one to target.

Not super familiar with him, seems to have very similar stats as Poitras but is more of a goal scorer, not sure how much better he is. My concern with those guys is how far out they are from the nhl level, if Ullmark were to be moved I think the Bruins would want someone who could play in the lineup within the next year and not go into a rebuild with the guys they have locked up in their prime of their careers

I was speaking strictly LA. Other teams would have more NHL ready targets.

LA makes the most sense if they don’t resign Korpisalo definitely wouldn’t want to trade that guy within the division. Not sure what other teams would be a good fit for a trade for him.

That’s the problem, most of the fits would be in division.

LA also has Cal Petersen’s big contract buried.

Edm if they could dump Campbell. Minny if they move MAF. Maybe lots of work to do it.

Better off moving Hall to clear cap, keep Ullmark. Swayman would be easier to move than Ullmark despite the season. Opens up more teams as he fits long term option for rebuilding teams.

Explore a T. Hall trade first for minus-US$6MIL from the 3rd Line...?

But isn';t that the point. Ullmark has NTC and can Bruins even afford 4.3m for Swayman?

NTC for 16 teams but it’s not a NMC so totally depends on who’s on that list

Offer sheets aren't really a "thing".
Besides the MTL-CAR p#issing match for Aho/KK the last was ROR in 2013 (10yrs ago)...

BOS required trade-outs are Reilly, Gryz for almost $7MIL in savings and will have to play Zboril-Lysell and a lot of league-minimum to ELC FWDs @ bottom-6 & D #6-7.

Other posters elsewhere had a good point = Bergy will be back for Bruins 100yr anniversary (heck maybe DK too - he's def. not a liability at 2C)...

they won't be trading clarke , that's the same as everyone asking for lysell in our deals

A top tier goalie at a reasonable contract with term isn't coming cheap. LA won't find a better goalie on the UFA market, and trading for a good one is going to cost some assets.

I dont think it is a great idea for LA or Boston in this scenario, with Clarke. I doubt Swayman gets an offer sheet, but there isn't a ton that Boston can do if he is. Maybe trade Hall, but now you're dropping your forward depth and keeping a very expensive goalie tandem. From LA standpoint, the the team has a legit window now with Kopitar and Doughty. Goaltending is a massive problem. I don't think Clarke is the heir to 1D, and likely ends up a good top 4D instead. The glut of prospects is embarrassing for LA, and losing Clarke will not set the team back too bad for the future.
