laugh laugh That garbage isn't even close for Moritz Seider, Seider would start with Barzal and then some.

Zadina+Rasmussen+Plus your 2023 1st back and a 2nd for both Dobson and Barzal. Yeah that's how laugh the Seider trade is.

Seider would only get moved for a high end C like Elias Pettersson not a bunch of worthless garbage.

But hey welcome to Capfriendly.

So, why do the Canes consider moving their captain? The Canes could just sign Varly in UFA if they so chose, and the 2024 first doesn’t do much for the Canes. It would have to be a considerable overpay if you want to force the Canes hands to get Staal, and I’m pretty sure that the Isles won’t be paying that price.

This is all over the place but why would someone want to give anything away for Kerfoot? Even for these bizarre moves that’s odd.

Welcome to CF! With the deadline being behind us, any of the deals with pending UFAs (Varlamov, Staal, Klingberg, Kerfoot, Parise, Fasching, Panik) are moot points - those players can be acquired for just the cost of a contract this summer, and there's no chance for them to move clubs before then.

The values are all over the place. Regardless of how Canes fans feel about trading Staal, why would you give up a 1st rounder for a guy with 29 points in 60 GP this year? Why would you add John Klingberg to an RHD depth chart that's arguably one of the strongest parts of the team? Why is New Jersey giving up a 3rd and a pretty strong prospect for an aging 4C and an AHL/NHL tweener? Why would the Isles give up a 2nd for Kerfoot, let alone add in Parise (16-10-26 at a $750K cap hit vs. Kerfoot's 7-19-26/$3.5M AAV) and a solid 3rd pair LHD in Sebastian Aho? Why would Detroit trade a legitimate franchise cornerstone RHD for a package that's basically what they just got for Filip Hronek?? And lastly, why is Arizona giving up a very real shot at Bedard for Ruslan Iskhakov?
