Briere doesn't have a lot options IMO. Not much in the way of good trade material or much in cap space to improve. Ed Snyder (the original Flyer owner) must rolling in his grave seeing how his beloved team has fallen.

Walker isn't a cap dump. Retain Provy 50% and maybe the Kings consider it.

They have about 20 Million if they trade Hayes with Retention(1-3M), that's a decent amount of Cap Space. Especially for a team that's gonna bottom out another year or so.

Ellis isnt playing again I think he's dealt to like ANA/CHI a team that's severely under the Floor for next year, they're also gonna have a lot of younger players coming up Forester/Brink/Desnoyer/Gauthier/23' Draft Pick/ within the next 2 years. They have room to work with.

I hate to give up what could be 33rd OA, but it seems fair for that much retention on Hayes, and I think I'm the only Jackets fan on this site who is pro-trading-for-Hayes. I'm also an old Flyers fan, so I just like Kevin Hayes.

I would love Hayes with retention. If we can land one of the big three Cs in the draft that would be awesome. Jackets have desperately needed a good centers for the entire franchises history. Could be a solid stopgap guy until our young centers are ready
