There are a lot of teams with much worse goaltending than Murray.

Samsonov at 4.5 million would look awful very fast.

And any team that has “much worse than Murray” won’t be in a position to pay for a minimal upgrade if you can even call it that. Then next factor is the bailing TOR out of that contract, that’s a price to pay alright, but it’s TOR that’s paying. If you think it’s not costing a 2nd to dump him you’re delusional

There is no way this is the team next year if the leafs don't win a playoff round. Nylander will be gone for sure and either Brodie or Rielly will be dealt somehow even with their ntc contracts.

He has been above average for most of the season and just came back from a long lay off. He'll get up to speed and continue to be a decent goalie. Despite how badly the goons on this site want to see the Leafs fail.

I don’t want to see them fail. But samsonov is clearly the better goalie by a long shot. OTT waved Murray, PIT wanted nothing to do with him. And well, saying he’s been good this year would be relative to his past few seasons and what’s not being accounted for is the shelter of having that roster in front of him. He’s slightly better than mrazek and I hope for all leaf fans sake they start samsonov in the playoffs

He was the back up on a Stanley cup roster. Just happened that the starters got hurt or had a bad stretch. Crosby, Malkin, Kessel, Letang and more all in their prime. Jewelry is nice sure. Similar situation to what the leafs have but the G is on the tail end of his career.

Mrazek is terrible he was dreadful, Murray has been good, case in point tonight. He was incredible. Its too early to say what will happen but both him and Samsonov are good goalies. There are a lot of teams who need a good goalie.

At this rate Robertson is almost worthless
