Oh jeez, I don't think anything you'd get back would make up for trading away Bedard lol. That dude is likely going to be a Hall of Fame player, who can literally step in and be a First line PPG Center day one.

how the hell can you possibly justify trading Bedard? Michkov/Carlson & Eklund are nowhere near being worth Bedard. This is the kind of move that would get a GM assassinated

How do they get to #1 spot to begin with?

They are currently #12 and can only move 10 spots.

I would totally move Bedard for the correct price. I honestly think it’s a genius move. How many “once in a life time” players are now “busts”. Maybe target a better player than Eklund but he could also turn out to be a Forsberg type. They have very comparable stats.

    I’ll do comparable

    Eklund - Forsberg
Michkov - Ovechkin /Kaprizov (better stats than Ovi)
#34oa- could be a great players as well

    Bedard - Mcdavid /Crosby

Look at it like this. Would you trade

Ovechkin (pretend he’s young 18yo) Forsberg for Mcdavid

Ton of people are sleeping on Michkov. Huge mistake

I'm not even sure Grier wants Bedard. No way anyone is getting Eklund. Keep dreaming

I would NOT do a young OV and Forsberg for McDavid, and thats from a WSH perspective. And no, the ONLY player who has been hyped up as much as Bedard who has ever flopped was Alexader Daigl, and thats bcuz he had no drive, we already know how motivated Bedard is so there's no worry there. Any price thats worth Bedard would be too much for the other team to give up as he is still 18 and theres a chance injuries can derail his development.

San Jose isn’t trading an A prospect, 3 oa and 34th oa to move up two spots

Interesting. Young Ovechkin who scored 50 and had 106p as a rookie? I swear people forget how amazing he was. He had 269g his first 5 years in the NHL lol. If Michkov can become a KK or Ovechkin and Eklund and become a 70p guy I’m taking them both over McDavid all day. Now we are talking potential of course so that’s where risk is involved. Bedard is guaranteed to be elite level

People are sleeping on Michkov but he's not going to come to the NHL for at least another year.

Eklund could definitely turn out to be a Forsberg level player but there is absolutely zero guarantee of that happening. He's actually put up incredibly similar stats as McMichael did in his 20yo season, to give Caps fans some perspective on just how wide the range on his career outcomes still is. Since 2000 you can really only say two 1oa guys were complete busts in Yakupov and DiPietro. RNH, Johnson, and Lafreniere haven't/don't seem like world beaters or even really all-stars but are/have been completely solid players and were not talked up as Bedard has been.

The difference between Bedard and Fantilli or Michkov is basically that between McDavid and Eichel. No doubt Eichel is a great 1c on a very good team, but McDavid is literally having one of the best individual seasons of all time. Maybe getting a Forsberg level guy does not at all make up the difference between the two.

San Jose would be the dumbest in the world to not trade for him? Or Washington would be the dumbest to trade him…San Jose gets an elite player at 3 and keep their best prospect and 34th oa which will be another solid player
