Holloway for Anderson: Who adds?

Josh Anderson, Montreal: Gritty top 6 winger with a good shot. Big frame (6’3” 225) that can definitely throw the body and play the physical game (something we don’t have and need). 21G-10A–31PTS in 67 games this year. 28 years old and signed at 5.5 for 4 more years (until he’s 33). He has a M-NTC though I believe right now it’s a 8 team no-trade list next season and that list goes down to 5 teams in 2024 of his contract.

Dylan Holloway, Edmonton: Top 9 winger that had a lot of promise coming from Wisconsin. He has 3G-6A-9PTS in 51 games. Slight regress over the year but that is expected with these rookies but a change of scenery and a reunion w/ Caufield could help Holloway find his game and establish himself in the top6. 21 years old on ELC contract. Decent size at 6’1” and 200 lbs. He has some snarl and can fly just like Josh but isn’t developed just yet. He has 3G-6A-9PTS in 51 games

I think it'd rather take a late 1st round pick instead of Holloway, although neither are enough for Anderson. Oilers have to add, but they can't fit his salary.

Holloway has been quite disappointing. I saw multiple Oilers fans in the offseason saying he'd be scoring 50 points this season and Bourgault was going to also contribute another 40 pts lmao
The upside doesnt seem as great as 1st thought, giving me Tyler Benson vibes yikes.
These prospects arent all sure things.

Mtl should be getting younger and the Oilers need legitimate, proven NHL'rs in the McDrai window. There should be a deal under this template. Obviously a cap hit added like Ceci to Mtl and a draft pick to mitigate that cost.

That’s unfortunately not true, Anderson is valuable to GM’s ( but not really fans, including myself, he’s a decent 2nd liner that has those GM intangibles )

Seravelli and Lebrun both confirmed that Hughes refused a 1st for Anderson at the 2022 TDL. What you are doing is hearsay. Not legitimate.
