Wings pass, too expensive and not the direction they are going

Would tinker with the exact picks going to Minnesota from Detroit tbh.

I mean a likely late 1st and a mid 2nd for a decent RHD who's 22 and a cupdump isn't the worst. Maybe change it to a 2nd and 3rd, remove the 5th and I take that tbh.

Boston could regress big time with lots of people retiring. Not trading this for this type of return, want better

I'd rather just trade for Myers to resolve the RHD situation for now. Cost is adding assets, not giving them away.

I like Foligno and he would be a great add on any team but I don't think it makes sense to pay this price to add him. Addison would also be great but again the price is too steep, be interested in just Addison but without a first round pick included. They really should keep him and not resign Dumba, it would probably make alot more sense financially.

They could, but I was thinking about it with the assumption that it occurs mid season next season and Boston doesn't actually drop off a cliff.

I agree that Johansson and Sundqvist have looked great.
I'd do the Johansson deal.
However, no way am I spending that much money & term on Sundqvist. If he doesn't resign for cheap, I'd let him walk. I'd rather give more playing time to Walker, Beckman, and other young players.
I'd also prioritize resigning FreddyG since he's looked great the past two seasons.

I don't get this site's obsession with trading Goligoski. He's killed it analytically the past two seasons and has shown little-to-no interest in playing elsewhere; rather the opposite, he'd rather retire with his hometown team.

I'd keep Hunt since he's shown more promise than ROR imo.

It's unlikely we sign Livingstone as he's a VAN native. LaCombe would be nice but I doubt he doesn't sign with the team that drafted him given they will provide him with more opportunity / playing time. Plus, the Wild are loaded with D prospects so he'd have to compete with ROR, Hunt, & Lambos for the #6 spot.

It is crowded but he would be a good bottom 6 for a time with no grit. Good enough defensively so you get grit with out having a 4th line plug. if the deal was right I would take him... that deal however is not it. Yzerman can always move a winger for more draft stock and I am just sick of seeing the wings bullied.

Addison will not return a 1st. Even if you offer sheet him at 3x3 or 4x4 it only costs a 2nd and MIN can't really afford that unless they open another hole on their roster, which would be stupid. Foligno is not getting much in return as he likely costs a 3rd - 5th and removing his $3.1M costs to go toward more scoring with Duhaime or Sunny resigning at a lower costs.

Addison would be a nice and much needed puck moving RHD in DET to pair with some of the LHD prospects coming up or pair with a DEF 1st D like Maata or Chariot. I don't see this package being anthing more than a 2nd and 4th no pick from DET, but Foligno fits a playoff team looking for grit much better.

Totally agree. Moving Merril makes more sense as he's just too slow and coughs the puck up way too much. I'm not a fan of all the hate towards him and you can see he's much better and comfortable playing top 4 or 6. I think the sites obsession is the fact he makes $2M basically being the 7th D and the cap space is needed.

Freddy G has to be resigned. His play has warrantied it, but also the injuries this year goes to show his depth has been so valuable. Freddy G signing > Sunny, Reaves, Klingberg (unless its for $2M), Foligno (can be traded).

I think you see yzerman clear out body's this off-season. Suter, Erne ,a guy like Zadina who wasn't his pick and he tries to reshape the bottom 6.
