Very easy no from Calgary.
1. Cant afford him
2. Wolf is not remotely available

1 year of Hellebuyck isn't getting you Clarke

And he most likely wouldn't want to play for us.

The Caps don't have room for Dillon with Sandin, Alexeyev, and Fehervary on the left side all needing playing time. We will still cherish his time in DC though (including getting into a fight with Malkin pretty soon after getting traded).

True. I had a 3rd point when I started the post and forgot it. That was it

I’m quite intrigued by the Jets/Canes trade partnership possibilities in the offseason. Maybe Wheeler as proposed, but maybe Hellebuyck?

I don’t think 1 year of him will get the return as presented here, but if the Canes think they are a goalie short…doesn’t this fit like a missing puzzle piece?

Hard to say on PLD, I think long term he's probably more open to anywhere outside of Wpg. IF Clg could extend him I don't see why Wolf wouldnt be available, yes he's a good prospect but goalie prospects are the likely the hardest to predict.

They might, but honestly if they think they are a contender they will need a reliable goalie, they would get one year at a reasonable hit with one of the best, and easily be in a position to extend.

I agree this could be a landing spot for Helly as well if hes made available. I think whomever trades for him he'd extend if a contender and its not a frozen tundra like Wpg.

No cap space, two of our biggest cap moves are our goalies, I have seen he has said lingvterm with only Montreal

No cap space today, but moving Lindholm and Toffoli creates some

Clarke was unmovable for multiple years of Chychrun. No way he's moved for a rental, like at all.

The Kings will likely try to hold on to Petersen one more season to make his buyout easier (unless a better trade comes up). They have most everyone signed except Vilardi and Kupari of the forward group, so with whatever remains they need to address LD (Gavrikov or whoever they need). The Kings will likely keep Petersen and Copley next season, unless they can find a good goalie who would sign for $2-3M,

Free agents include: Samsonov, Varlamov, Bishop, Andersen, Talbot, Jarry, Nedeljkovic, Blackwood, Raanta, Korpisalo

In short Hellebuyck would just be a temporary patch even at 50% retained, there is no point in losing your best prospect for a rental. Would you trade Perfetti for a one year rental?

The Kings will likely try to hold on to Petersen one more season to make his buyout easier (unless a better trade comes up). Petersen makes 5 million in the AHL, I think a Vezina winner in his prime with no signs of regression is a "better trade", or am I missing something?

The Kings will likely keep Petersen and Copley next season, unless they can find a good goalie who would sign for $2-3M - Might be a firable offence for your GM

Free agents include: Samsonov, Varlamov, Bishop, Andersen, Talbot, Jarry, Nedeljkovic, Blackwood, Raanta, Korpisalo - I dont see any Vezina winners in their prime in this list

In short Hellebuyck would just be a temporary patch even at 50% retained, there is no point in losing your best prospect for a rental. Would you trade Perfetti for a one year rental? - Yes, IF the Jets were a goalie away from being a Cup contender, and that goalie was a Vezina winner in his prime, and willing to re-sign, I would trade Perfetti or whatever prospect that team wanted.

Goalie isn't as important as the LD upgrade was, and our win metrics prove that. If the Kings make a swing for the fences it will be because they didn't reup Gavrikov.
