I think that a first has to be included in any offer for Demko or Ehlers. Ehlers is a 0.75-ppg scorer and has two seasons left on his contract, so he should get at least the same return as the lower-scoring (at a more productive position) and expiring-rental Bo Horvat. Arizona got a first and a conditional third from Colorado, who was much more desperate for a goalie then than Buffalo is now because the Avalanche were clearcut contenders, for Darcy Kuemper, whom no one considers to be better than Demko.

Jets should pass on that.

yeah bcuz he came back from surgery too quickly, if you've watched him at all since he came back from injury (which I assume you haven't) he's been arguably the best goalie in the NHL and is single handedly stopping VAN's tank for Bedard. Franchise goalies are hard to find, definitely worth more than a meh dman, decent goalie prospects, a 2nd rd pick and probably the worst 1st overall pick since Yakupov.
