Idea of the trade:

Flames get a star player in return for their star, who is from Calgary and will put up points


Leafs get a player that should help their chance of a cup next year, and maybe better fits what they need

Age, ability, star power, skill all point to Nylander. I have no problem giving him 8-9 mil a year on a long term deal.

Their about =Imo

Lindholm is better 2 Way, and still scores

Nylander is slightly younger, Scores more, not great defensively.

I can agree that Linholm = Nylander but not Linholm > Nylander based on Nylander's production this year...

As for the trade... the idea is good but Lindholm doesn't fit as well into Keefe's system than Nylander does considering where Lindholm would play (Wingers are more offensively responsible whereas centres are more defensive responsible... Nylander is better offensively and wouldn't want to trade him for a weaker variation offensively or a 3C/4C
