I'm not a fan of Boeser and was very worried we'd trade for him this deadline. He's a one-dimensional player who has a crappy 200ft game, and oft injured. His contract is an overpayment, but so is Granlund's. Alvin and JR have made it well-known that they value centers right now. Granlund is a 10 to 15G guy, 40ish points per year, poor defensively, but a good set-up man and good on the PK despite being poor defensively. He would definitely fit better in VAN than he does on the Pens and Boeser makes more sense to the Pens than Granlund does.

The only thing I'd say is maybe the Pens' pony up a 2nd instead of a 3rd. I think this trade makes sense for both teams.

if granlund was 24 and a righty it makes sense, otherwise canucks have made it pretty clear they are happy to keep boeser. i mean the guy has 53 in 68 in a 'down year'

Who's said he's having a down year? He's having one of the best years in terms of overall point production.
