just coming from the Nucks ACGM with this trade to say it makes no sense for van. If granland is coming back for the cap its gonna take much more than a 3rd to get older, worse, and switch a righty to a lefty

Saw it on another Canucks ACGM so I wasn't sure. If you guys wouldn't do this then we would just buyout Granlund. Leave us with only 800k hit a year and can spend that 4 mil on another player.

Not really sure about the other trades but absolutely no shot the canucks consider that trade.

The flames trade is certainly interesting though.

if granlund had 1 year i could see the canucks being interested. need a 3C but ideally a young righty, which granlund is not

I don't blame you. Granlund seems like a good guy, but he's been awful

Bryan Rust and his NMC aren't waiving for Calgary.

And Tyler Bertuzzi is asking for 7 x $6,500,000, If he was willing to sign for what you're offering. he'd still be with Detroit.

Players may be willing to take a different deal for a different organization, not saying he'd take this pens deal just saying players may be more willing to adjust their $ and term to be on a contender.

I'd 100% take that Flames deal, but no chance Rust waives his NMC to go to Calgary. That was a terrible deal by Ron Hextall yet again to give him NMC.

Pens window is closing fast, i'd hardly call Pittsburgh a contender. That Letang deal is going to hurt mightily down the road. Perhaps Bert would take a little discount to play in Pittsburgh. But very doubtful it would be for $5,000,000 per when Detroit had already offered him more for less term.

What did Detroit offer him?

Doubtful Montreal does this, the value might be right but we already have too many LHD and it's only going to get worse when Hutson is signed. We already have to move 2 maybe 3 this offseason so adding another is highly unlikely.

Reportedly in the 3-4 year range around $5,500,000 per. Which as far as i'm concerned is too much.

I think 5-6 mil for more term than that could get it done

A few things:
-If you make it a 2nd instead of a 3rd, I think Van says yes.
-I think you can drop a MM or so from Ghost's contract. 20 / 5 would be acceptable
-Why trade DeSmith? Why do you think DeSmith is a cap dump?
-The Cal trade would have to have a set extension in place for both Noah and Jake
-No one is going into a season with <1MM in cap space and only 22 roster spots. Drop the Athanasiou contract and put in Puustinen

As I said, not saying he would take the Pittsburgh deal, just in general players are willing to take a cut to go to a contender.

I'd place my bets on an UFA goalie for Ottawa so I pass on this
