Comrie is a cap dump for all intents and purposes, and Dickinson as a 3rd liner is pretty damn effective. I would argue a puck moves, but a 3rd maybe more in the wheel house, as Comrie might just play in Chicago (they aren't about to compete yet).

Now the Marchemnt deal dies before it begins I think. Sure, the move saves them money, but Marchment has fit right into that team, and the Stars have cap space to round out that roster just fine. They are not in a position to have to retool, and system wise, they have some fine young players coming whereby Mittlestadt's youth is a none factor.

I absolutely love the idea of adding defense to the bottom 6 (been beating that drum lately)...... and that is likely to cost an asset or two.

Dickinson good trade. I’d keep mitts over marchment

No chance Hawks do that. Dickinson is worth around that third himself and Comrie has negative value to the Hawks who have Mrazek and several internal guys to audition while they lose a bunch.

A 3rd for Dickinson is fair value. But Hawks have no use for Comrie. They have Mrazek and either Soderblom or Stauber will be the backup, with the other G playing in Rockford w/ Commesso. Comrie just clogs things up. He needs to be removed from the deal or Hawks get something extra to take him.

I think the hawks trade is 50/50 on if the hawks do it. Let me outline some reasons why I wouldn’t personally.

The hawks already have a lot of 23 picks, would be more interested if the Kane trade condition activated or if it was in another year.

Hawks need to reach the cap floor for next season, and it’s not an easy path while clearing Dickinsons cap.

I feel like a player like Dickinson would be worth more than a third at next years deadline, especially if he continues to play like he has this year.

It’s good to have veterans in the locker room, Dickinson is valuable in that way and he plays the right way which is important for young players to take in.
