Caps hard pass. They aren't paying to move Mantha (unless it's like a 4th or something). They'll just keep him to see if a new coach will use Mantha properly.

Avs can probably pick up someone to do what Evans does in free agency without giving up assets or that much cap space so they decline. I'll add it's not the worst trade in the world just does nothing for me personally.

So how do you get Killorn to take a $1.5/year pay cut after putting up a 64 point season where he set career bests in goals and assists? Point of a gun?

    It's not exactly the same

    1. Anderson's production is mostly goals which hold more value than assists
    2. Anderson has had 6 seasons since becoming an NHL regular with more than 15 Goals and only 1 where he has not, Mantha has had 5 seasons over 15 goals and 3 with less than 15 goals
    3. Anderson has played at least 75% of the season in 6 out of 7 full-time seasons, Mantha has played 4 out of 7

Not saying a healthy Mantha with a better coach/system wouldn't be worth the same as or more than Anderson, just saying their production and health are not identical. I also do not think the Caps have to "dump" Mantha, teams will pay for him, fans (especially ones on this site) tend to overvalue the flashy players than the "blue collar" guys.
