How close is Sault Ste. Marie from Kanata?

Edit: Looks like an 8 hour drive

These trades are wack but oh my god that would be such good entertainment if Dubas left to join the sens.

Fully endorse and am rooting for this.

Gee why do the Kraken trade a 5m player who scored 40 goals, 70 points and has four full years left on his contract, for the more expensive DeBrincat.

I didn't really focus in on what DeBrincat is worth.

I focused in on what it might be like if Kyle Dubas was Ottawa's GM.

DeBrincat is the better player and McCann probably hit his peak.

If it such a great deal for, for Seattle why do the Sens make the trade?
If Dubas was GM....he has history of paying his RFAs too much, though maybe DeBrincat isn't his guy.

1. Bunting will only play for the Leafs.

2. Murray has Ottawa on his no-trade list

3. Ritchie was one of Dubas' worst experiments as GM of the Leafs.

Seattle gets the better player.

Ottawa gets cap space and a former SOO Greyhound that Dubas used for protecting Alex Kerfoot during the expansion draft

Meh. Cat is good, but kind of overachieved playing beside Kane. I'd honestly rather have McCann. They can both score, but McCann is cheaper and more well-rounded

debrincat hasn't been the better player the past two seasons. Mcann is 26, Debrincat is 25... when you factor in contracts, I'd take McCann. Debrincat will likely bounce back but he's not worth 8.5-9 mill

If Kyle Dubas doesn't become Ottawa's GM, you can forget this swap even happened.

Also factor in that McCann is actually defensively responsible and poses pretty decent defensive metrics, while Cat is a myth in his own end.

I've always gotten dragged through the mud by suggesting that Cat is not THAT good. Looks like I might be closer to being right.

What would you pay DeBrincat then if McCann is making 5 million per year?

4 million?

Also, why is DeBrincat the only thing that anybody wants to talk about in ACGM lately?

I wouldn't pay him 4, but I also wouldn't pay him 9.

League minimum then??

Given that you're so low on DeBrincat, you'd probably ask Ottawa to pay a 1st round pick just to dump his signing rights lol.

This ACGM is supposed to be more about Kyle Dubas becoming Ottawa's GM than it is about trading DeBrincat.

If you want to trash DeBrincat all day long, there are plenty of other ACGMs to choose from.

Brudda, it's not that serious lol.

People were discussing Cat, so I jumped in with some takes. Sorry if me saying your favourite player isn't that good touched some sort of nerve.
To be fair, I never said Cat was bad. I just said I wouldn't pay him 9m.

Mccann was signed at the beginning of last season. If he was a an RFA this summer he’d get at least 7 mill.

I’d give Debrincat 7 x 7
