Detroit passes, No interest in Casey DeSmith the same guy we lit up for 11 goals earlier. 2 years of Petry doesn't help us and he's getting up there in age so pass.

Every time I see DET pop up I smile because I know it's a Petry trade and all the DET fans will come in and say how much they love it lol

Couple nitpicks. You can't just throw Carter on LTIR. And that Korpisalo contract is pretty bad. Now that I'm looking at it I don't like the Wood one either. Overall a good roster though

Why would we give a serviceable player for 8M in capdumps and a second.

That Cal trade is brutal. A top 6 forward for a good defenseman (granted Rust has much better advanced stats than Hanifin) would be a fine trade. Perhaps adding a prospect due to Rusts age. But one of Pit's best prospects and a middle teen 1st? Way overpay.

Edit: You also have no cap space

No offense but your best prospects are mediocre at best.
But yes, this trade makes no sense and will just make Pittsburgh worse down the line.

I think Detroit fans have made it pretty clear that they have no interest in Petry. I honestly have no problem keeping him. I think he will do fine next season if we make the right changes around him.
I would be okay with giving Granlund another shot, but a buyout also is fine by me. I doubt anyone will want him unless you take cap back.
I also highly doubt Rust waives his NMC, especially for Canada.

I keep seeing rosters on here with trades involving Petry and Carter. The only Jeff in Pittsburgh with any trade value is Jeff Jimerson (the anthem singer). And sadly Granlund doesn’t have much more unless significant salary is retained.

Only way out of this cap debacle that Hextall created seems to be buying out Granlund and going from there

This was just for fun as in Carter decided to Retire, you think the Korpisal is too much? He will get that on the open market and he's a very good goalie, he's be great in LA playing in front of a team with D. I wasn't sure what to do for goalie. It's seem like Jarry isn't the guy and might not be back.

Don't think it's that big of an overpay, maybe some yes and how would this make the team worse? an aging winger with long term and high cap moved out for a top 4, possible top 2 D who's 26 and under 5AAV who has term?

Might be able to buy cap space, need to send picks or more if needed, teams take on players that don't even play and teams will need to get to the floor, I'm sure your right and will be a buyout, but was doing this for fun

The bigger the bite the bigger the hole.
