......nevermind that while the Sabres get "tougher" with Wilson, the Caps would get "softer" with Bryson and Olofsson. I don't see it happening for either side......

Doesn't matter. Dude is a unicorn that would get an insane return if Caps decided to trade him but they aren't so it doesn't matter.

He’s also getting up there in age & accumulating more injuries
I’m not saying you’ll have to “sell low”
But it’s probably a deadline move where u get a 1st & a couple other pieces that aren’t anything all that special

Big difference between paying for “years of future potential” and paying for a 1 year (or likely less) rental

And there’s ZERO chance that many teams are bidding on him
Only a handful of contenders will be interested in the rental,
and even fewer will have Cap Space
