Quoting: Ritzy
The delusion here is that the one first round pick you offered is top 5 protected, hilarious. And on top of that, you've added a condition that if CBJ doesn't get out of the first round that turns into two 2nds? So potentially no first picks for your top line C?
Again, hilarious. And we're the delusional ones.

Maybe you don’t know this, but the little number in the lower right hand corner of the players info box is the term left on their contract. You’ll notice Matthews has a UFA-1, which means he has one year left on his deal and will be a UFA.
Remember the risk thing? There is a decent chance Columbus can’t re-sign him and he’s gone.
In that case of conditions not being met, you’ve still gotten two high-upside players age 19 and 21 with amole NHL experience already, who are both easily worth a 1st (one even being a center), plus three 2nd rounders, one of which is 34th overall - which combined would be worth a pretty high 1st. Columbus isn’t dealing this year’s top-4 pick without the guarantee of an extension- which this scenario does not propose.
There is a ****load of value there. Go read a book.
