Veleno’s value is not a 2nd. That ship has long sailed.

The coyotes would not consider that offer IMO.

It’s not a terrivle offer per say but it does set the Sens back next year unless they can get a replacement 2nd liner and a starting goalie somehow

Flip those picks or combination of picks and prospects to Philly for Hart. I wouldn't want Detroit to trade those picks but the offer is fair.

The Vancouver pick is like 42ish right?

It's an Edmonton 2nd, so likely a late one. If I were Edmonton, I'd take that offer. If I were Detroit, I'd keep Veleno as a bottom 6 center and develop him into a penalty kill specialist. He has the ability, he just needs to make better decisions.

It might be all Ottawa can get though. 1 year, then Cat gets paid; not a ton of teams can pay what many suspect will be the ask in tbe 8 million plus range.

I'm not saying it is fair value on the trade, but it might be the best offer. If Ottawa keeps him for next season, they may not be able to afford the QO, and if he has another down year, the trade offers might be lower. It's a tough call for Ottawa.

I seriously doubt Debrincat signs for 7 million, but I guess that all depends on how Debrincat feels about playing for his hometown team at a discount.

Its highly unlikely Edmonton values Veleno at a 2nd. They have McLeod who is better, and Philp who they're developing into a defensive center (because he already makes good decisions).

He just isn't worth a 2nd.

I get that that’s probably the most you guys would do in terms of futures but you guys have a lot of roster players that you could throw in and we could use a middle 6 forward that isn’t overpaid since we are likely not getting Formenton back and in this scenario we are losing Cat

I think Kubalik would be a good fit to go the other way, still provide some of the offense and on a good cap hit.

Too much for Cat. Too much for Veleno. Probably doesn't get Keller.
