Hard pass on Gudas and Killorn is going to cost too much. The leafs can't afford to give term to guys like him. They need space for Matthews, Nylander and Marner.

They probably should. He's a one year rental who has played fine when healthy. They aren't competing next year. May as well try out a goalie

Killorn costs more. I would happily sign him for that, but he'll want more.

I would not pay gudas that. I would sign one of Gudas/Schenn if they can be had for 1.5 mil or less

Who cares. We are going to bad regardless of who is in goal. We can leverage that 6.25M in cap space for more draft capitol.

Grier has said they want to fix goal tending this year, everything they said indicates Khak gets another chance so we prolly just want to get someone who is nhl average and if we get resources to do that then go us

Agreed, but we don’t need to waste 6.25M in cap space for average goaltending.

I dont see it as a waste because both guys will be gone, and we got draft capital for them. This also leaves us in a good position with lots of cap for next summers goal tending UFA class that looks infinitely stronger.

A 3rd and a 5th in 2024 isn’t much draft capital for 6.25M. We can do better. The other option with our cap space is to bring in reclamation projects. Goalies or skaters. Lots of better options than Murray with weak incentive to take his cap hit.

yeah fair enough, but imagine how mad the fans would be if we blow our chance to get Hellybuck or Sorokin in FA (if they walk) because of a reclamation project

I'd prefer they weaponize cap space in a different way. I also think the Sharks should suck for another year. They probably will regardless as Murray is likely to get injured, but those picks aren't that attractive.

Given the nature of our tank this year, if we don't/can't trade karlsson we will almost certainly be closers to 10-15 pick

I think he's gone with retention. Who knows though.

which team do you think? Oilers don't need him any more, Ottawa has never really seemed like a viable option
