Gudas isn't better than Lyubushkin

Sabres don't have that much fat, but teams aren't taking on Sabres fat and giving up good assets for them either.

Honestly the blues don't really need another winger. Plus we don't have that much cap and we still need to sign some RFA's

laugh laugh You say that Buffalo needs to trim the fat, But yet you sign Gudas and Raanta to 2 x $5,000,000 deals. I call that hardly trimming the fat.

Gudas is one of the better defensive Dman in the league. He also brings playoff experience and grit missing from the team

Raanta has played well and will help keep pressure off Levi. Without giving up a lot of asset or term I believe it works for the Sabres.

Not sure wat you are expecting from Sabres this year but I think this is something you should expect.

Sabres fat is better than most teams. Sabres just have so many offensive prospects they have the ability to trade good player to fit them on team. A guy who will score 20+ goals, young goalie, and legit RHD are all very good trade assets.

Sorry but neither player is worth $5,000,000 even for 2 years. Gudas is worth 3 x 3 mil and Raanta 3 x 2.5 mil at the very most.

Blues are solid on all offense wingers. Olofsson doesn’t really do much.

Wouldn’t be terribly mad if they made this trade, but it doesn’t make sense for them to.

I would be absolutely livid. Making this trade would be a fireable offense.

Moving down what’s assumed 9-10 spots from 24-32 to like 39 isn’t a big difference in this draft. It’s not worth it. But certainly not fireball

Other teams would bid that and could lose them. Also rather pay more for two years then give them an extra year when they wouldn’t even make our team.

Exactly the trade down would be worth a late second. Which I think would be fair trade. Especially with eating half salary.

It's a rather large difference and the Blues have zero use or cap for Olofsson, who is basically the antithesis of a Blues/Chief type player. It would be pure idiocy. I think Army has already used up all his idiocy mulligans on Leddy.

I guess to a degree you’re right. It is a dumb move. My main point was value wise I don’t think it’s terrible. It’s another fairly low risk move to get a guy who has offensive capabilities but a lot of deficiencies to try and get the player right or scoring. I think we’ve used up all the ice time for that though.

And it’s very hard to judge where a pick is value wise. There are probably 45 very good looking junior players from an untrained eye. I’d venture to guess after extensive viewing our scouting dept has some guys they’d prefer, and honestly we have no reason to doubt them. The Blues drafting in that area has been ridiculously good for a while now

He's not gonna get right. He's a one zone player, a poor man's Hoffman.

For me, the clear tiers are about like this:

1-2 (yes, I feel Fantilli is close enough to Bedard)
3-4
5-12
13-24
25-35
35-55

But yeah, doing this deal would solve no problems. We need to get this team back to the system, not add any one trick passengers.
