I actually agree. I thought they should have used the assets they spent on Jeannot to get a cost controlled dman. I thought McCabe would have been a perfect add. Jeannot is a nice piece but not at that price AND the fact that he doesn't have a contract extension in place.

**Edit** - I do think getting Schenn would be redundant considering you have Bogo. But Acciari would have been cheap and would have served a similar role to Jeannot. A guy like Hathaway would have been a nice cheap addition also.

Yes I agree, some Tampa fans said they had no room for McCabe but I disagree, he would've helped that defense, they probably could've gotten McCabe and Lafferty without giving up Foote too.

What they gave for Jeannot was insane, hopefully it works out for them.

Not sure the Hawks would have done that. I am guessing part of the calculus of dealing McCabe and Lafferty to Toronto was the fact that Chicago held the first rounders this year and next from Tampa. You can argue how much impact either really had, but they certainly help win a late regular season game to make the Tampa pick better and helped knock Tampa out of the playoffs locking up at worst the #20OA. Second, the Toronto first is the season after Mathews needs to be resolved (either leaving or eating more cap making Toronto more top heavy)

Hawks do that no question. I dont think they NEED Cal Foote, but they'd take him.
