Edmonton has no cap space.

I'm a Taylor Hall fan, and I think he would fit in well with the Avs, but the Avs need a 2C for that kind of cap space. Could maybe work with retention via 3rd team.

Sharks would probably be more interested in a deal starting at Carlo or Swayman for Hertl. I think Hertl would really fit great on the Bruins, but you don't have the draft capital or the prospects that the Sharks need. We need RD, RW, scoring and Goaltending. If the trade is going to work between Boston and SJ for Hertl, then its going to have to include young roster players that fit our window. That means DeBrusk/Carlo/Swayman would be in the mix (obviously McAvoy/Zacha aren't on the table). De Brusk and Carlo have the benefit of freeing up a good amount of cap space to take on Hertl's contract, but we could take other cap dumps as well. If those guys are a non-starter for the Bruins then I just don't think its a viable trade option.

Oilers can't afford to. Edmonton already has a Carlo like d man in Ceci, and he costs $850,000 less against the cap.

If a team can eat 2m of Halls 2 remaining years, I can see the Avs making it work beyond Landy's ltir year coming up.

Would love Carlo in EDM, pair him with Nurse. However they have little to no cap, so much so that BOS would have to take back Ceci+ in order to make this work.
