WPG isnt retaining over 3mil for 3 years AND Hellebuyck and a 3rd for expiring Nylander, often injured and value sinking Robertson and a 1st.

And Murray with a 3rd might not get accepted, let alone they throw in Valimaki, who has found his game

And Timmins has to learn defense, he might fetch a 3rd, but theres a huge reason TOR went out and got 3 defensemen at the TDL and Timmins is sitting in the press box.

Domi will get more than 3.5mil, ROR will get more than 3mil, Bertuzzi will get more, even Schenn will get more. And even after all those underpayments you still have Lafferty at 3RW and McMann in your lineup?

Arizona loves Valimaki and he won't go for picks and a cap dump.

If you expect Winnipeg to retain 3 mill for 3 years for a guy who is worth his contract, you'd have to throw in Knies in that deal.

A lot of these trade proposals are based on the idea G.M's are going to do the Leafs favours by retaining on good contracts because Dubas has mismanaged the cap, and that simply isn't happening.
