Detroit declines. we have no need nor room for more left shooting defenders either in Detroit or in Grand Rapids.

Alex Goligoski is from Grand Rapids, Minnesota not Grand Rapids, Michigan so wrong state.

Beyond that---Detroit has way, way too many LHD...Detroit's LHD under contract:

Jake Walman (3 yrs left),
Olli Maatta (2 yrs left),
Ben Chiarot (3 yrs left),
Simon Edvinsson (LTIR until early Dec but an ELC slide so ends summer 2026),
2019 2nd round pick Albert Johansson (ELC ends summer 2024),
2020 2nd round pick William Wallinder (ELC ends summer 2026),
2018 2nd round pick Jared McIsaac (RFA),
2020 3rd round pick Donovan Sebrango (ELC ends summer 2025),
2020 3rd round pick Eemil Viro (ELC ends summer 2025)

even is they use Chiarot and Wallinder as off handed d-men on the right side: they still have prospects path blocked.

For a seventh D he wouldn't be the worst. He wouldn't be my first target for top 6 minutes but he could fill a hole when injuries happen.

So could Osterle or Hagg, just resign them then, or one of the other FA options for that depth. This is still a business and Detroit doesn't need to burn 1m of real money (since we could sign an equivalent for 1m less than that) to buy a very low probability draft pick.

Not sure any of these pieces are what CBJ need in return for Roslovic. Fans can be frustrated but the kid is high-tier transition player who needs help in the other zones. Any team would be thrilled to have a 40-50 point player at $2 million who can create zone entries.

His value is even compounded at the deadline where a good secondary scorer could be added to a contender for nearly nothing against the cap.

Oh I totally agree, just stating that it's not the worst option is all. I wouldn't be opposed to it in a bigger deal somehow.
